Indrajaal unveils India’s first anti drone patrol vehicle to fortify our borders and save lives

Unlike traditional vehicle-mounted systems that move from one point-defence location to another, an Anti-Drone Patrol Vehicle actively combats threats while in motion — detecting, tracking, and neutralising drones across borders, cities, and critical corridors.

Hyderabad, India –  26th Nov 2025

Indrajaal Drone Defence today announced the launch of India’s first Anti-Drone Patrol Vehicle (ADPV) — a groundbreaking, fully mobile, AI-enabled counter-drone system designed to redefine how the nation responds to drone-led threats.

Indrajaal Anti-Drone Patrol Vehicle

The urgency to build the ADPV (Indrajaal Ranger) was reinforced by two recent national security incidents that exposed how drones have become a critical link in breaching India’s border security.

First, the ISI-linked cross-border drone-trafficking incident — where weapons were smuggled deep into Indian territory — exposed a stark reality: illegal border drone movement today is as good as welcoming weapons into our cities.

Second, the BSF neutralising 255 Pakistani drones so far this year underscored how drones have become the primary transport channel for India’s ₹3-lakh-crore drug-trafficking ecosystem.

Together, these incidents made one truth undeniable: India urgently needed a mobile, fast-response counter-drone vehicle capable of detecting, tracking, and neutralising drones in real time — and saving lives. Because every drone intercepted is equal to a life protected.

Indrajaal Ranger Patrol Vehicle

Breaking away from traditional vehicle-mounted anti-drone solutions that work only when parked, Indrajaal engineered the ADPV ( Indrajaal Ranger) as a purpose-built combat vehicle that delivers:

  • On-the-move drone detection
  • Real-time patrolling and surveillance
  • Autonomous threat assessment through AI
  • Instant interception and neutralization
  • Seamless coverage across border roads, canals, agricultural belts, critical infrastructure, and dense urban pockets

This innovation marks a major leap in India’s defence readiness, addressing increasing drone-based smuggling, surveillance, and terror attempts across states and national borders.

During the launch of the Ranger, Guest of Honour – Lieutenant General Devendra Pratap Pandey (Retd), PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VSM, General Officer of the Indian Army and former Commandant of the Army War College, Mhow, as well as former General Officer Commanding of the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps (XV), expressed:

“India’s youth deserve a safer nation, free from the shadow of international crime networks. Technologies like the Anti-Drone Patrol Vehicle are not just machines — they are shields protecting our children, our farmers, and our future. I would like to congratulate Mr. Kiran Raju for the groundbreaking innovation he is building in India’s defence space with Indrajaal. With this new Ranger launch, the country and the brave men protecting our Nation along the borders and within will be truly grateful for such a transformative contribution.”

Sharing his thoughts at the event, Kiran Raju, Founder & CEO, Indrajaal, added:

Each drone neutralised translates to lives protected and India’s internal security strengthened. This is our primary mission at Indrajaal — to defend freedom.

Saving Lives at Scale: Ranger’s Role in Breaking Smuggling Chains and Securing India’s Borders

Indrajaal Ranger delivers a transformative layer of national security, disrupting cross-border criminal operations and safeguarding vulnerable populations. By intercepting hostile drones, it prevents narcotics from entering and endangering Indian youth, blocks the inflow of illicit weapons into urban centres, and protects farmers living along sensitive border zones. The system significantly weakens recruitment pipelines of smuggling and extremist networks by cutting off their logistical supply routes and financial channels. Its automated interception framework reduces the operational load on police and BSF units, enabling smarter, data-driven deployment of manpower. Most importantly, it restores a sense of safety, dignity, and normalcy to border communities that have lived under persistent threat.

The events that led to the innovation at Indrajaal

With drone-based smuggling of drugs, weapons, and explosives rising sharply along India’s western and northern borders, Indrajaal Drone Defence today announced the launch of deployment-ready Indrajaal Ranger, the country’s first mobile anti-drone patrol vehicle engineered specifically to counter cross-border aerial threats.

The Indian drug trafficking industry is huge and millions of Indians have fallen prey to it. Just in May this year, Hon’ble Home Minister Amit Shah said that a whopping 7% of Indians consume narcotics. Government data shows that over ₹25,000 crore worth of drugs were seized in India in 2024 alone, a sharp increase of 55% compared to the previous year. In this haul, the western border alone accounted for 44.5% of all heroin seizures nationwide. Security agencies intercepted more than 200 Pakistani drones in a single year along the western belt — the highest ever recorded.

Many of these drones carried heroin, methamphetamine, foreign pistols, magazines, and ammunition for interstate criminal networks.

“India is facing a new kind of enemy – one that flies. Smugglers no longer cross the border on foot; they cross it through the air in minutes. Indrajaal Ranger is India’s answer to this new battlefield,” said Kiran Raju, Founder & CEO, Indrajaal

Use Case 1: Border Security and Counter-terrorism

The Delhi Police’s bust of an ISI-linked gun-running network just 5 days ago reveal drones are being used to deliver:

  • Turkish PX-5.7 pistols
  • Foreign semi-automatic weapons
  • High-grade heroin and methamphetamine
  • Ammunition
  • IED components

The supply chain now runs like this:

Pakistan → Punjab border → Haryana/UP → Delhi NCR → Indian metros

What was once a border threat has become a national public-safety emergency.

Indrajaal Ranger is built exactly for this mission.

The ADPV Indrajaal Ranger supports long-range detection, AI threat classification, cyber takeover, hard-kill interception through Zombee drones, and GPS-denied operation. It strengthens state and national forces confronting drone-based smuggling and cross-border infiltration.

Use Case 2: Urban Policing and Event Security

The ADPV Indrajaal Ranger enables 360° detection and tracking up to 8–10 km, digital geofencing of sensitive areas, automated violation recording, cyber takeover of unauthorized drones, and seamless integration with police command centres.

Use Case 3: Protection of Critical Infrastructure & Convoys

The vehicle provides rapid deployment to protect airports, ports, refineries, industrial corridors, power plants, temples, government campuses, and VIP movements. It creates a mobile protective bubble against aerial threats without fixed installations.

What’s the difference between Vehicle-Mounted Anti-Drone Units and Anti-Drone Patrol Vehicles?

Unlike traditional vehicle-mounted systems that merely relocate between point-defence sites, An Anti Drone Patrol Vehicle fights while moving – detecting, tracking, and neutralizing drones on the move across borders, cities, and critical corridors.

Vehicle-Mounted Anti-Drone Systems

  • Standard anti-drone devices simply installed on a vehicle roof
  • Effective only when stationary — mainly for checkpoints, gates, or fixed positions
  • Vehicle acts only as transport, not as an operational asset
  • Provides limited coverage area
  • Designed for basic protection, not active field operations

Anti-Drone Patrol Vehicles

  • Purpose-engineered combat vehicles built ground-up for drone warfare
  • Can detect, track, and neutralize drones while moving
  • Function as mobile command centres with integrated sensors, jammers, and AI systems
  • Can patrol farms, canals, border roads, and vulnerable villages in real time
  • The vehicle itself is the weapon system, designed for interception and rapid response
  • Delivers dynamic, area-wide defence, not just point protection
